Prevent Roadside Deaths and Injuries. Move Over - It's the Law.

When drivers obey the Move Over Law, the roadside is safer for everyone - first responders, work crews and all motorists.

Move Over

THE MOVE OVER LAW
CREATES A SAFETY ZONE
FOR EMERGENCY WORKERS AND YOU!

Every year in Delaware, highway workers and stranded motorists are injured or killed by passing vehicles that do not move over. If you see any vehicle stopped on the roadside with emergency lights flashing, the Delaware Move Over Law says you must move over a lane if you can safely do so, or slow down by at least 20 mph if the posted speed limit is 50 mph or more.

YOU MUST MOVE OVER FOR ANY STATIONARY VEHICLE FLASHING WARNING LIGHTS.
